What is Physiotherapy?
What is Physiotherapy?
Physio Goals
Physiotherapy is a professional, highly credible and natural medical treatment option. The primary focus of physiotherapy is the restoration of function. Physiotherapists assess and diagnose the problem, then plan and administer treatment programs that aim to restore function or minimise dysfunction after disease or injury.
Manchester Physio strive to improve an individual's quality of life by physical means. A combination of manual therapy, movement training, exercise programs and physical and electrotherapy agents are used to achieve this.
The Science
Physiotherapy is science-based, committed to extending, applying, evaluating and reviewing the evidence that underpins and informs its practice and delivery. Physiotherapy is a 'hands on' manual therapy and one of the best proven approaches for the treatment of joints, muscles, tendons, nerves and ligaments. As well as practising a wide range of manual techniques, our Physiotherapists are also trained in the use of electrotherapy, eg; ultrasound, laser, interferential and TENS.
Professionalism
Manchester Physio uses only Chartered Physiotherapists who have undergone a minimum of three years full time training at University. The Manchester Physio team are all members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and the Health Professionals Council (HPC). Through professional training Physiotherapists understand how and why structures move and why pain and injury occur. Manchester Physio aim to restore normal movement allowing the affected tissues to repair in a balanced and appropriate way.
